March 30th, 2007 — Fun
Jason tagged me from his Make Money Online blog and asked for 10 weird things about me. Weird? Me? I racked my brains and what I thought of did not qualify as “weird” to me. They may be “different” so if “different” or “unusual” or “not things you do” qualify as weird, then here are 10 weird things about me.
- Paris Beaverbanks has nothing to do with Paris (the city), Paris (the heiress) or Paris (the fella in Troy) and has nothing to do with beavers or riverbanks, or beavers building dams like banks or banks.
- I’m sensitive to strange pillows so I carry my own pillow whenever I can, when I travel locally by car. Yes, even to hotels, which raises many an eyebrow.
- When consuming alcohol, once I hit my limit (1.5 to 2 glasses of wine max), I’m unable to swallow anymore liquor.
- I turn red as a lobster after imbibing alcohol - sure fail breathalyser test.
- I’ve only kept in touch with 1 friend from school.
- I devour fantasy novels and series and scorn romance novels.
- My 2nd toes on both feet are longer than all the other toes.
- I have an elephant’s memory for events that affect me.
- I hold grudges.
- I cannot stand people who have no manners, or are chauvinists (which will be the subject of another post some day).
There, 10 weird and ugly facts about me. Like it, or hate it, its me!
So now, on to 5 more people… hai I’m lazy to find 5 people. I’ve seen this tag going round a lot some 5 some 10 so I think I’ll give it a rest. I’ll tag Pinkelle though coz I know I can make her do it LOL…. Anyone else wants to tell us weird things can go right ahead and pick this tag up.
March 29th, 2007 — Ramblings, Fun
I had dinner with Pinkelle, my sister yesterday (so you can expect a foodie post from her soon! pressure…..pressure) and during dinner, we somehow got to talking about cartoons we watched as kids. After we were done embarrassing ourselves singing the theme songs and reminiscing about how 2-D the cartoons were, sis giggled and said this:
I so know you are going to blog about this!
Well, to prove her wrong, I’m NOT going to blog about it.

I’m not going to blog about how my bro said that Voltron was “like Transformers but with 5 people” and that he had a toy which sis and I were quick to dispell.
I’m not going to blog about how we agonised over who was the leader of the Decepticons in Transformers (Megatron!) , and how I could not stand goody-two-shoes Optimus Prime and how cute the yellow wolkswagen (Bettlebug was that his name?!) was.
I’m not going to blog about singing “We’re tiny, we’re toony, we’re all a little looney….” from the Looney Tunes Kids or something.
I’m not going to blog about how I confused Animaniacs with the Tiny Toons and that I could not remember what the characters from Animaniacs looked like, and how sis told me to visualise a marsupilami but black, omitting to mention their white faces, which would have rung a bell.
Oh and of course I wouldn’t blog about how terribly “kayu” (wooden) the Thundercats series is and how we can’t stand Snarf, and how its still showing on TV2 on Saturday/Sunday evenings. Mumra… deliverer of eee-villl…..

Last of all, I’m not going to blog about Jem and the Holograms and how we remembered getting up early on Sunday mornings to catch this cartoon. Truly Outrageous!

I just won’t blog about it, so don’t make me!

March 29th, 2007 — Food

I’m sitting here sipping a mug of hot Horlicks and instantly I’m transported back to the days when I was a wee bairn - lol! My dad used to take me out and since coffee isn’t for kiddies, he’d order me a cup of hot horlicks, and… here’s the best part… when it came, he’d pour half of it into the saucer, to let it cool, and I’d then sip it out of the saucer, like a little cat. hehe…
So yes, Horlicks, an icon of Malaysian homes, as familiar to us as Milo and Ovaltine. Everyone must remember growing up on this wheat and malted barley drink, right? I do find the milk/malt taste a tad strong, so I only take this super hot or super cold. Oh, and with condensed milk. There is something about condensed milk that makes horlicks taste so much better.
Now, hands up anyone who remembers these sweets by Horlicks?

I remember eating these for something like 20 sen a packet for 4 tablets inside? Something like that anyway. I don’t really see them around anymore. Maybe its still there, just that I’m not paying attention.

Hands up everyone who thinks they can dance! Are you sure? Are you very very sure? Who told you you could dance? You call that dancing?
Don’t look at me. I can’t dance. *cue Phil Collins*
So, it was great fun when a participant in the Malaysian Edition of “So You Think You Can Dance?” (SYTYCD for those who like acronyms) contacted me recently after reading my previous post about this programme. He was prepared to share his experiences on the auditions and the show and to answer any questions about his participation. I thought it was great! I’ll do a nice little post all for him when he’s ready with his information. :D I would have loved to scoop it, but hey, he signed the confidentiality papers and I don’t want him getting into trouble over nothing.
The show will air in April 2007 apparently, so let’s watch out for it, and when the time is right, or when he tells me its right, I’ll release my post. Patience grasshopper…
In the meantime, lets play 20 questions! Post your questions here that you’d like the participant to answer, and I’ll close the comment box after we reach 20 questions.
Ready, set, Go! And no naughty questions, eh?

Anyway, I’ve been bloghopping and I see people with such nice looking images in their posts e.g. Little Miss May and LB and Sesame. They don’t look like pictures which are stock photos found on the internet. Some have even cutesy little headers and things…. I wan!!
But I don’t know how to
So, tell me, how do you get those cutesy little pictures/images? I dont know how to work photoshop (not that I have it) and my camera is working but I can’t find my software CD (rains curses on the goblin-that-hides-useful-things-in-the-house).
So…. Help? Thankyewverrymuch!
