I’m sitting here sipping a mug of hot Horlicks and instantly I’m transported back to the days when I was a wee bairn - lol! My dad used to take me out and since coffee isn’t for kiddies, he’d order me a cup of hot horlicks, and… here’s the best part… when it came, he’d pour half of it into the saucer, to let it cool, and I’d then sip it out of the saucer, like a little cat. hehe…
So yes, Horlicks, an icon of Malaysian homes, as familiar to us as Milo and Ovaltine. Everyone must remember growing up on this wheat and malted barley drink, right? I do find the milk/malt taste a tad strong, so I only take this super hot or super cold. Oh, and with condensed milk. There is something about condensed milk that makes horlicks taste so much better.
Now, hands up anyone who remembers these sweets by Horlicks?

I remember eating these for something like 20 sen a packet for 4 tablets inside? Something like that anyway. I don’t really see them around anymore. Maybe its still there, just that I’m not paying attention.

Horlicks! Ho ho ho…oh boy I DO remember those sweets! They came in normal malt flavour or chocolate! Yummy!
How about a positive blog about Scott’s Emulsion, eh? :)))
haha…yeah, the malties are still around…gone up in price though. It’s now about RM1.20 for a packet I think…
Horlicks, like Cod Liver Oil always made me sick. I remember back in the old days of squatting in the ramshackle student housing with ole Paris… she tried to convince me to drink malted drinks when I ran out of Milo. Boy was that a msitake
Ooooh I remembered the Malties! I used to save money at school to buy ‘em. And I’d definitely “accidentally” pop a few packets into the trolley when Mum and I go grocery-shopping. Hehehe.
