I’m in a bit of a low these couple of days.
It doesn’t help that my living space is a mess. The dining table is a mess, my kitchen is back to being a mess, my laundry hasn’t been done for a week and my ironing has taken a life of its own.
In fact, I seem to be breeding dirty laundry and ironing. I think they must be mating in the night for every day, the pile in the laundry bag seems to be getting bigger and bigger.
In that vein, I also suspect that my ironing pile is also having a torrid and illicit affair with the rest of my clean clothes, for they too have bred and are now double what they were the week before. Damn! Not another weekend of stopping the breeding process!
I was discussing with sis on MSN and came up with this formula for breeding dirty laundry. On any normal week, I will get:
Work: 1 top x 1 bottom x 5 days = 10
PJs: 1 top x 1 bottom x 3 days = 6
Lounging at home: 1 tee x 1 shorts x 2 days = 4
Odd going out: 1 top x 1 bottom x 2 days = 4
Misc: 10
Total pieces of laundry a week = 34 pieces
And that’s just me alone. Imagine if I have to iron at least 10 of that a week and I put it off for a couple of weeks. Um… it looks like another long weekend of hot ironing to be done. Sigh….
Feng Shui says we must clear clutter or our lives will be cluttered. Paris Beaverbanks says I need to wash and iron my clothes or I will have no clothes left next week.

Random thought: How do you walk out the door and say goodbye? I think its time I closed a chapter of my life. How do you put yourself back on the market? Where do I find a good sales agent to help me do that?!?

Ha, I coincidentally ranted about the never ending chores a few minutes ago.
I “solved” my ironing problem long time ago, say bye-bye to anything that need ironing. And hor, dust doesn’t get any thicker after a while.
discovered yr blog few days ago, and been a silent ghost reader, hope u don’t mind i jump out to say “hi”.
PB Says: Of course I don’t mind you saying Hi! In fact I love people saying Hi after dropping by
Hope to see more of you around. I would say bye-bye but I can’t condone T-shirts and jeans at my workplace everyday hehe…
The worst chore ever invented was ironing (somehow doing the laundry was fun ~ washing machine), so ever since I discovered that at the beginning of my working career, I started employing a maid to do that for me! Now, I live in ironing-ignorance bliss.. except for the months on vacation back in Malaysia!
Need an agent?
PB Says: Absolutely concur about ironing. I just don’t have the luxury to employ someone yet. You know any good agents?
You want a sales agent? How much commission u willing to give?
PB Says: Hmm… good question. Can negotiate lah… heh but first born all that a bit difficult la coz promised to mom already…
Don’t worry, send them to Dobi…i used to do that last time
PB Says: Pokai liao cannot afford to send to dobi LOL
When I shop, I get d salespersons to swear no ironning required.
My mom used to enjoy ironning & starching though. Used to have stiff jeans. =P
PB Says: OMG seriously? Ironed jeans?! I like my jeans a week old lol!
Tell me about that ironing CHORE. My stack is increasing by the day and I have triple your amount. And I tell you, it is never ending. Laundry – Ironing – Folding. What a vicious cycle.
PB says: Yeah it truly is a vicious cycle. Thats why we should all embrace our birthday suits LOL!
LOL! I wanted to say “send to laundry and start afresh” but Huisia said that liao. And you also replied liao. Can wait till end of month kah? Sis scheduled to come up KL on 28th.
PB says: No problems! Whenever is convenient. No hurry after all
Let’s see.. in my first sem at Uni, I actually ironed everything, even my t-shirts. That stopped the moment I got a life.
PB says: Even without a life I wouldn’t iron Tshirts! But I know people who iron even underwear!
first time here …
i dislike to iron too , that’s why engage a part time lady to come in to iron hubby and Misha’s clothes and do some cleaning.
PB says: Hi there! That’s the way to enjoy life! Hehe… Maybe I’ll invest in it one day
I try to buy clothes that are at least 80% iron-free, so I won’t have to bother with it much, or just give them a quick press! I used to dread ironing when I was younger; I used to have to iron all my brothers’ and dad’s shirts and pants. now my mom does it… poor mom…
PB says: I try to do that too but I love the feel of cotton on skin. In our weather its cooler especially if you have to wear long sleeved shirts. Gad! I hate long sleeved shirts! My mom still does the ironing and I wish I could iron half as well as she does!
I hate getting all hot when I slog at the ironing board – not that I do it often! But it’s still a dreaded chore… If it were left to me, I’d leave everything until I had absolutely no more clothes left before I start. Hehehe.
