When I grow up I want to be…

… like Timothy Tiah aka Boss Stewie! LOL

I don’t usually do a bodek (ass kissing) post but I thought I’d make an exception just once. This was brought on because I came across his post Nuffnang Orientation giving us an insight into the running of his company Nuffnang.

I’d read Timothy’s blog off and on from way before Nuffnang and I liked what I read. I must admit to be very surprised to see that the Nuffnang staff wear shirts and ties. I just never expected that from a web based company. I was thinking Google with staff being able to wear khakis and polo t-shirts to work. But the idea of eating, shopping and blogging on company time sound awesome!

Anyway, Timothy is now an entrepreneur just like the heading of his blog says, and he promotes his business, he holds blogger meets (like the one Nuffnang will be having in Penang soon - if you are in Penang, make sure you try to get in on the action), and he continues to blog on his (I might add free hosted blogspot) blog. So why did I single Timothy out? Well, because I’m trying to run things in a similar sort of fashion.

I don’t like a traditional straitlaced office atmosphere that inspires fear or coldness in dealings with clients and staff. I prefer an open relaxed concept where everyone can do what they want provided they do what they are supposed to do in a timely and efficient manner. We aren’t at the polo t-shirt and khakis stage yet due to various restrictions but ties are pretty much optional for now :) and company lunches will be a pretty regular occurance. We have to eat anyway right? Might as well get some expenses deductions while we are at it haha….

So all the best with Nuffnang, Boss Stewie aka Timothy. Don’t stop at building the biggest dotcom in South East Asia - head for Asia! ;)

*This post is NOT sponsored in any fashion and I probably will not get any Nuffnang ads for the forthcoming weeks just to show there’s no biasness wot? but I hope not because though I don’t earn enough from the ads to get a check for a few years, the ads add colour to my sidebar LOL!*

I like the part where you say that “everyone can do what they want provided they do what they are supposed to do in a timely and efficient manner”. When you do own a company like that, please remember me :)

And you’re right, being hired by Nuffnang to blog for a living sounds like something we ALL could do! :)

PB says: I’m already putting it into practice ;)

Wah….I must visit your office. Look like Digi’s office or not? Their office is really cool.

PB says: Don’t have big budget like Digi so my office is still spartan la… heh
