I was at the DKSH warehouse clearance sale in PJ on Saturday. There was a lot of food stuff on sale mostly because it was close to expiry. I managed to pick up some stuff for the house but the shopping high ended on a sour note.
At this particular sale was also sale of electrical products distributed by Diethlam. One of it was Fujitsu air-conditioners. I strolled over when I saw a friend talking to a DKSH member of staff manning the air-conditioner booth. Now, I was in the market for an air-conditioner for one of my rooms. However, I knew that no matter how cheap the price is, there is always a tag on of labour charge for fixing it up and everywhere I went, I’ve been quoted a sum of RM150.
So, I asked the staff member how much the service charge was and he said RM180 for a 1.0 HP air conditioner and the price goes up, depending on the size needed. This was the conversation that ensued:-
Me: Wah! RM180 ah… outside its only RM150.
Him: This is by our in-house Diethlam technician.
Me: Ya, but still, shops outside are only charging RM150.
Him: Haiyah! Outside you can get RM150 or even RM130. Ours is Diethlam technician. Its only RM30 difference (In Cantonese) Sam sap khau tai um hoi meh?
A rough translation of what he said in Cantonese is: Its only RM30 why so stingy? (Correct me if I’m wrong. I get the gist but not the exact words)
At this point I got angry. Its not that I could not afford the additional RM30 they were charging. I just did not like his supercilious attitude. He was not a sales man, that’s for sure because salesmen always sweet talk you, not abuse you. He looked like a member of staff acting as salesman for the day.
So, I said, “How rude!” and walked away. I was not the only one who found the service charge expensive because I overheard many people commenting that it was on the high side.
Anyway, I don’t care if anyone knows who he is. There, his picture if up for everyone to see. If you know him, tell him that he was abominably rude to a potential customer, and that this is no way to make a sale. You do not abuse your customers because you just never know who they might be and what they can or cannot afford.
So nah! Your mug is now on my blog for the world to see. *sticks tongue out*

sometimes I wonder if all these warehouse sales are genuinely cheaper or just a ploy to charge more service charge!
PB says: Some are, some aren’t. Only thing is to know your prices so you don’t get ripped off.
No, I don’t know that rude person, but if I ever come across him, I will ask him for his autograph on account of his WWW fame as being the Rude Person of the Month! Yeehah!! I never condone rudeness, especially from a person who gets paid to sell.
PB says: What an honour eh? Yeah people who get paid to sell things shouldn’t turn their customers off
Actually arr.. The richer some people are, the more stingy he/she is. This is proven wan
PB says: gosh! I must be the richest person in the world! hehe… Must be stingy else how to be rich?
It’s a Malaysian staff thing to be rude to customers!
I don’t know him, but if I did, I would give him a right piece of my mind!

He needs to go for intensive PR classes.
PB says: He just needs a dose of bitter manners medicine
I agree, it’s not being stingy, it’s a matter of principle.
PB says: I’m glad you agree!
No front view photo ah? It would be such a joke if he reads your blog! Then again, I bet no one with that kind of foul manners reads your blog eh?
PB says: Couldn’t get a frontal shot. It’ll be nice if someone who knows him reads this BWAHAHA….
A/C offer, less 50% = savings of Rm400.00 to Rm500.00
Service charge extra Rm30.00.
Because of extra Rm30.00 in service charge , so no sale.. penny wise pound foolish???
Buy outside spend extra Rm400.00 to Rm500.00 , save Rm30.00 in service charge..
keke!
PB says: Maybe you missed the point of it all which is that of manners. If a person is polite no one will mind paying an extra RM30. But if a person treats you like you cannot afford it, even if its RM3 also I won’t bother. Its the principle of the thing, not the money. Btw the 1.0HP air cond cost RM799. Hardly any savings wot?
He some more not handsome, and got an atittude problem.I dont know this statement is offensive “Sam sap khau tai um hoi meh?”
He must have said it with a sarcastic tone..keke!

Get either a Mitsubishi or Toshiba air-conditioner. Both work brilliantly at home. In fact, just the other day, I was staring at the Mitsubishi air-conditioner in my room and wondering whether I should write a review about it! LOL!
Haha… cannot see his face. You should take a picture of his face, let the world see mah
PB says: I tried. He wouldn’t co-operate and camwhore for me lol! Welcome Neo
