Yesterday I had someone tell me that one of my sites looked screwy because there was a big drop down menu in the middle of the post. I looked and looked on my Internet Explorer browser and saw nothing out of place. Everything looked fine and dandy.
So, I hopped onto Gmail chat and asked the only person I know who uses Firefox (Thanks Pablo!) and asked him to check. He came back and told me “OMG! Everything’s messed up!” Apparently, there were numbers everywhere, looking suspiciously like bra sizes!!
WTF?
You know how our Signor L B throws his mini-skirts around in a tantrum? Well, apparently, I must have been throwing one hell of a tantrum around my site to leave my bras everywhere for all and sundry to see! In the middle of the post somemore! How to miss a size 36DD bra thrown in your face right? Pamela Anderson - eat your heart out! Haha…
So anyway, Internet Explorer did not detect this. I don’t even know how long it has been going on. How many innocuous visitors to my site had clicked on a post to read it only to find themselves staring at a size 36F bra? One of the ads I’d included had gone wonky apparently.
To cut a long skirt story short, I cleaned up the code, but was appalled that my site would look so bad on another browser. So, today, I decided I’d go the way of many internet surfers and download Firefox as my browser. With so many fans, I’m sure I can’t go wrong.
So here I am, looking at a browser of a little red fox curled around the world, trying to get used to the functions. So far, everything looks manageable. The tabs will take some getting used to though. And I’ve found that some sites seem to load a tad faster. Hmm… More ppp ops perhaps?
*twitches foxy tail*

Hahaha, welcome to The Throw Mini-Skirts Around Club! You might, if you’re adventurous enough, try installing Apple’s Safari Web Browser too, so you can be assured Mac users (like me) won’t be wading through your bra collection again.. (Not that I mind, especially if Pamela’s eating hers)..
SAFARI for Windows too..
PB says: Thanks for the link. And I removed my bra collection LOL!
Hey there foxy lady… phweet! *mimicks wolf whistle*
My very IT savvy Dad adores Firefox and won’t use any other browser… while his competent, but not so IT savvy daughter stubbornly insists on using IE… (altho’ I’m now on the latest version 7, which supports tabbed browsing)
PB says: I actually hated IE7 coz it kept crashing for no reason and hanging. So far Firefox seems to be loading things quicker which is great!
hey…i’ve been using firefox on mac and never seen any bra sizes floating around on your site…how strange! anyways, i hate IE…it messes up my layout. everything just looks better in firefox…=P
PB says: Hey! It was on my other site. I dunno. Someone checked and told me I had a dropdown menu covering my post. Its sorted out now. I’m just dipping my toes into the world of firefox and so far am liking what I see.
You just got TAGGED!!!
Been wanting to tell you but I thought it was just Mac screen playing tricks to the browser… it looks great now
PB says: Thanks! Sorry about the bras lol!
Yay! Another convert. We need more
But hoh, I didn’t see any bra sizes or anything screwy on your site leh, even though I use FF. Oh well, I reckon it’s because you’ve cleaned it up liao. Good good
Anyways, it’s always good practice to test your site on different browsers when designing. I tried mine out on IE and Opera, and found out there were problems on IE, which didn’t show on FF!
PB says: Heh… I think many people would use FF if IE was not already bundled. I used to do websites in the past when Netscape and IE were the 2 biggest browsers but since then I’ve stopped using 2 browsers until now
Oh gosh…please tell me if my site is acting up on Firefox. I switch between IE and Fox as I like, though. But I heard some things go wonkers on imacs.
PB says: So far it looks ok to me
I’ve hopped onto the Firefox bandwagon a couple of years ago and never looked back since! though on my Mac, I’d much prefer using Safari, which Firefox does quite well to imitate of. they both show off nicer graphics too…
