Review: Priceless Partner Dating Site

by ParisB on August 1, 2007

The ways of the universe works in very strange ways. I received a surprise wedding invitation from fellow blogger Tine who’s getting married soon – and of course I said I would attend. I did tell her that I was currently not seeing anyone, but one never knows by next year what can happen, so she agreed to reserve me 2 seats in case I suddenly find someone worth bringing to a friend’s wedding dinner (and thereby putting the pressure on perhaps?) else sis will have to take up the slack – hehe…

Anyway, this afternoon, I opened my email inbox to find that someone was prepared to pay me to review their online dating site – PricelessPartner.com. Told you the universe is a strange place.

Priceless Partner is a new free dating site run by Glen from Australia. Its new and still in beta stage which might explain why the database of members is still relatively small. When you get to the main page, your cookies would automatically tell the site where you come from, so the members displayed are related to your country. However, from Malaysia, there appear to be only 2 pages worth of members, which means about 24 members, some of whom proclaim to be married but still looking. Um… ok.

As Glen is based in Australia, I would expect that the majority of the participants would be Australia based. Good for those who want to find people outside their normal scope of contacts. There is also a forum which seems to be fairly active with most subjects having recent posts either yesterday or today. That tells you there are regular members who care to stay in touch and participate.

The navigation is easy as the links at the top of the page spell out exactly where you will be taken. The selection process is also easy with the usual: I am a [male/female] looking for [male/female] with age [18-99] based in [country/location] etc.

Looks wise though, I find the site could be improved. At the moment, it looks rather old-school with a rather dull dove-gray background and orange links. The font too isn’t consistent between the index page and the other pages. I find the font on the other pages easier to read as it is smaller, compared to the index page which has larger fonts, which makes for a messy impression. Smaller fonts are neater. Also the page with Glen’s interesting and useful article on How to Spot a Dating Site Scammer does not have the same layout with the rest of the site, which makes you wonder if you are still on the same site.

All said, Glen promises to keep the service free so I wish him all the best in his venture. I thoroughly enjoyed reading his article on How to spot a Dating Site Scammer, which I think every online dater should take heed of!

If my memory serves me correctly, Tine is from Penang – does this mean you’ll be in Penang soon?
