This is what Homer Simpson says at the start of The Simpsons Movie. But its worth it. Every sen of the RM11 I paid… erm… that I owe sis hehe…
When I first found out that The Simpsons Movie was finally out, I was keen to see it, simply because I love watching The Simpsons. There is something that is just so endearing about this bright yellow dysfunctional family. I’m sure many people can relate to them one way or another.
I finally caught it today much to my delight. Many people have written about this movie so suffice to say that it lives up to all its hype. It did not feel like 90 minutes at all and it was just like watching an extended version of the half hour tv series, just as hilarious and satirical without having any boring bits.
I loved the tongue-in-cheek references to its tv origins though, like the scrolling reminder of upcoming shows at the bottom of the screen, and the “To be continued” that appeared at the cliffhanger.
I never knew if The Simpsons was a kids or adult cartoon. I think many of the jokes in the show would be lost on kids (e.g. the scene of Homer swinging between a rock and “A Hard Place”), but there was enough action to keep kids entertained. There were these 2 guys sitting next to me who were laughing so hard throughout the movie, even during parts which weren’t very funny at all. Weird.
There was also a girl who was chatting on her phone in the middle of the movie but even that didn’t really detract from the pleasure of the movie.
This is a movie I’d happily watch again - so I’m open to offers
Just a tip for anyone who hasn’t seen it though - don’t leave when the credits roll. You might finally hear Maggie, the silent pacifier sucking baby, say something. ![]()

Hehe…it was a super good movie, wasn’t it?! Hilarious! Didn’t realise it was only one half hours though, definitely felt like more!
Now I really wish our TV would bring back the Simpsons cartoon. In UK, they get to watch 2 whole hours of Simpsons back to back on Sky TV!
Yeah, it’s a good movie, but Ratatouille beats it flat.
Still, I LOVE Simpsons!
oh dang, we watched it on DVD and didn’t let the credits roll… we were rushing out dinner instead! LOL! the tummy needed feeding…
Pinkelle: Ya! Bring it back! But don’t show it at 11pm.
Gallivanter: Ooh I gotta see Ratatouille!
May: Tummy first! But since you have DVD, just scroll right to the end
