Its 2.13pm and I’m here nursing my first coffee of the day. Its been a rough morning. Every morning without coffee to kickstart my engines is a rough morning. To add insult to injury I spent the morning driving a long distance, sitting around aimlessly waiting to be seen and sending SMS messages to wrong people. Fortunately, in the case of the latter, the person did not mind and I did not send too risque a message
Anyway, I was chatting to someone recently about my coffee drinking habits and on reflection, it is rather interesting. You see, I proclaim to be a coffee lover. I love the aroma, taste and the buzz coffee gives me. But, unlike true coffee drinkers, I drink mostly instant coffee on normal days and at home.
Granted, its an instant coffee “kau” with 2 scoops of Nescafe as opposed to one, but still, its instant coffee. I also don’t own a coffee maker, much as I’d love a dinky one like this Delonghi that kept me awake the whole night once.
And that’s the other thing about being a so-called coffee lover. I can only take it in the mornings. Once the engine is kickstarted, I’m on a roll the whole day but woe betide me if I take any more coffee after 2pm for then I’d be up all night like an owl!
But on the days when I do have some fancy coffee to indulge in, what is my coffee of choice?
Cappucino!
What? I can hear some people cry for to some people, a cappucino is so boring. So conventional. So blah.
For me however, after having run the whole gamut of coffees from espressos to lattes to long blacks to macchiatos, I decided that it would be the Cappucino for me.
For like me, a cappucino is frothy and light on the exterior but underneath all that froth and fluff hides a strong dark interior. Taken in isolation, it is too extreme. Frothy milk does not a coffee make, and the coffee by itself is nothing more than an espresso. Taken together however, the strong dark espresso coffee is tempered by the light frothy milk so the drink goes down easier. Pretty much like me LOL
And like me too, I don’t like too much milk in my Cappucino (So Starbucks is stuck off the list for being too milky) and I don’t take my cappucino with sugar at all because bitterness is all part of coffee drinking and of life no?
That, my dear readers, is my interpretation of my coffee and what it says about me. Are you a coffee lover too and what does your coffee say about you?

Make mine a latte! Better yet, an ice-blended latte!
Guess it’s like me lorrr…. looks pale-faced, doesn’t have that strong coffee kick, more milk than coffee and icy cold. LOL!
Tea please and green tea at that!
It’s my coise (“choice” ala the Mawi Ali Cafe ad)
I’m just like you! My favourite is cappucino… but if I take more than 1 cup, I’m doomed to a sleepless night for that day. I just need that kickstart in the morning as well!
Rinnah: roflol! It could also mean that you are lightly blended and sweet to boot!
Pinkelle: Wei! And what does that say about you? Weak and green? bwahahaha
Curlylocks: Welcome and snap!
you!
I like my coffee black. Just like my women.
Wait a minute!!!!
I’m a flat white, or latte kinda girl. smooth and creamy at the same time… *wink* cappucino is cool too. I was tempted to get one of those coffee machines, but I have no space in my kitchen!
I am not a regular coffee drinker, but if sticking toothpicks on eye lids doesn’t work and I need a boast, I’ll go for a glass of “kopi peng”(iced coffee) at the Kopitiam.
I used to joke that I would only drink coffee that cost at least RM9 . hahaha… oh who am I kidding? I’m no coffee person…
Wuching: Aww…
Simple America: Roflol!!
May: Don’t you love those coffee machines?! And I like your definition of latte
Leah: Ooh I could never take kopi peng
Giddy Tiger: hehe… there’s where we differ I guess! Hope you had a good trip!
