So you had a bad day…

by ParisB on October 4, 2007

Yesterday was an awesome day.

Today is horrible.

So horrible, I succumbed to whining to people I hardly know. I never do that! I am the epitome of poise and refinement *ahem* *pats perfectly coiffured hair*

Anyway, today saw me behaving like a Formula One driver in the seat of a race car, in the race of my life or rather, in the race against time. I did things I hardly ever do when on the road. I sped, weaved in and out of traffic, turned the air blue with my curses, honked my horn whenever possible, flashed slow drivers in front of me. All in all, behaved as a mat rempit in a car would.

And you know what I discovered?

  1. I can drive very fast and relatively safely if I have to (because I know I need to get to my destination in one piece).
  2. My car is so under-powered its not funny! I need a 2.0l engine at least!
  3. I still don’t know what the over-drive button does and when I should use it.
  4. BMWs think they have the right to hog the fast lane even though there’s a little Vios bearing down at them from the rear, flashing its headlights madly to get them out of the way. Grr…
  5. I am perfectly capable of whining to perfect strangers.

I got to my destination and got what I had to do right on time, just before the doors closed.

Close shave? Yes.

Would I do it again? Not in a hurry.

Note:

All stunts pulled in today’s post were done by an untrained professional. For your safety please do not try this at home, unless you are a Mat Rempit, in which case, pfbtttt!

*reminds self to get out of way when seeing a Vios driven in a mat rempit-ish manner with blatant use of horn and headlights* LOL!

I’ve never tried whining to perfect strangers. Is it therapeutic?

Rinnah: Funnily enough, it was therapeutic

Tine: Thanks for the concern I won’t be doing it in a hurry again!

LB: :P and thanks for doing your homework!

Firehorse: Hi! Haven’t seen you in ages.

Woi. You’re supposed to stay in one piece so that you can be godmummy to Top Monkey Jr!

I like whining to perfect strangers. When you’re done, you just walk away, leaving the burden of your whines with them and knowing that it’s highly unlikely they’ll spill the beans on you since they didn’t know you in the first place.

Haha… you make me laugh with what you write! I had to ask my hubby to explain the OD button to me too! And so far, I know it’s for climbing up slopes :P

If a cop stop you for speeding, say that you’ve left the kettle on at home and you need to rush home to turn it off before fire burns down the house.

Me? I just say that I am a lawyer rushing to court ;)

haaa, some of the bus drivers here also pretend to be Formula One drivers… quite the scary liao, especially when they drive fairly fast, hit the brakes and stop sooooooo close to the vehicle in front of them!

Slight correction there: You turn the Overdrive OFF to climb slopes. Hehe…
