Sunday amusements on Blog at RTM1

This might be old news to some but RTM1 (National TV station = propaganda channel) runs a 15 minute segment on bloggers on Sundays at about 8.40pm or so. You’d never catch me watching RTM1 at any time. I even forbid anyone in the house from switching over to it because I don’t want to be recorded as a statistic. Yes, I detest it that much. :P
I made an exception for RPK last Sunday but immediately after the segment was over, I switched the channel :P

But I digress.

I was going to put up the links to the RPK segment which was on last Sunday, for those who missed it. Its in Malay but absolutely hilarious (to me) watching the interviewer fall far out of his depth and failing to control the tide of the interview.

Here is the Youtube video in 3 parts

Part 1
Part 2
Part 3

But no, this isn’t some political government RTM-bashing post despite how it looks. ;) I was in fact thinking of what the Information Minister said:-

On the selection of bloggers to be interviewed, he said this would be determined by the RTM selection panel from time to time, depending on the issue to be discussed.

“We look at the issue, not the personality. Besides the well-known bloggers, we will also feature new ones. We leave it to RTM, this is not for the ministry to decide.”

When you watch the Youtube videos, take a look at the blog names on the backdrop. Notice that they are all political or politically inclined blogs. Based on that and on the choice of bloggers thus far, I’d say they are going for so-po bloggers (social-political) and you my dear friends, and I surely do not fall into that category or you won’t be reading my fluff yes?!

So, unless RTM’s selection panel decide that the issue of the day is “What masacara comes recommended?” or “Where do I get good Char Kuey Teow?” I don’t expect to see beauty bloggers or food bloggers anywhere on their list… LOL…

But can you imagine the flak you’d get for dissing a popular mascara? What if the company decides to sue you for falling sales? What if you get death threats because some psycho fan of the mascara has been using it for the past 20 years with excellent results? What if you have to keep upgrading your bandwidth to keep up with visitors?!

Actually, I’m not too fussed about the latter.

LOL… the mind boggles.

Eat my dust!

Eat! Yet another food post?

No, I’ll spare you that. Instead, let me entertain you with photos of the new family toy.

Its red, and its got a prancing pony… I mean stallion… on the front bonnet. We were playing with it and watching Raja Petra Kamaruddin on RTM1 last night. Fuyoh! Was it entertaining watching the interviewer sweat or what?! I never laughed so hard watching RTM1. Its the only time I voluntarily watch RTM1 so it must be a feat of sorts.

Now, with dynamic sound! Vrooooommmm!!! Feel the power! Watch it speed down the hallway!!

Of course its a toy! I did say “new family toy” yes ;)

Its really noisy too. Just like the real thing. Runs on 3 little round flat batteries like those that come in your watch and cost a bomb. So, if your kid asks why their Ferrari model car which is only RM4.90 with RM30 worth of Shell V-Power has lost its noise, tell them its gone for good or shell out a couple of twenties to replace its batteries!

This is not sponsored by Shell, although I’d be ever so grateful if they can sponsor me a tankful of petrol. My full tank is only RM80 or thereabouts, what. I did enjoy messing around with the toy car and we did lament the fact that the car doors could not open. I guess that’s asking too much for a toy that costs under a fiver :P

Perils of wokring from home

I opted to work from home today. The office poses too many distractions and I always find that I get more done working at home than I do at the office.

However, working from home has its perils and distractions too. Here are the perils I faced :-

Lunch - prepacked sushi I’d bought last night

sushi

Snack Time - Marks & Spencer crisps (yum!) and dried cranberries

snacks

Dinner - or will be at any rate - Grilled Ham Sandwich

Ham sandwich

Oh me oh my! On the plus side, I’m getting my work done. On the minus side, its time to watch the waistband!

Happy weekend everyone!

Random thought of the day #7

Gosh! I feel like that little iBaby at the moment.

I’m snowed under at work. Yes, and I’m working on multiple projects at the same time. When people said women can multi-task, I don’t suppose they meant it seriously right?!

Can someone hand me a shovel and dig me out of here please?
