I think I’d better catch up with some unfinished business before I get scalped
The title of the post may say “Breakfast at Tiffanys” but in fact, it was dinner or rather hor d’oeuvres at Tiffanys.
Sis had been invited to an event at Tiffany & Co at KLCC so naturally, I begged an invite pour moi. More so when I saw the magical words “Refreshments and drinks will be served”. I knew it wouldn’t be mere “drinks”. “Drinks” in this context must mean the magical bubbly I love – champagne!

It was a glittering affair. The theme was jeweled chic. I came straight from work so I brought a jeweled chick instead.

The event was to showcase Tiffany & Co’s range of watches and so, after dutifully registering our names (so we qualify for the bubbly and munchies) we went off to inspect what Tiffany & Co had to offer. It was fun, because for once, you get to traipse through the hallowed halls of a Tiffany store without feeling oppressed uncomfortable. Any number of people were busy trying on baubles and buying up a storm.
We saw a lady try on a cuff bangle and then loudly tell her friend/husband/boyfriend that it would not come off. Next thing we knew, it was being paid for. Good tactic, I tell you! Must watch and learn!
Socialites and who’s who abounded (if I knew who they were that is) The only person I recognised was Kee Hua Chee – freelance writer and socialite. You could tell who the socialites were and who were the working class – socialites were in jeweled chic, working class people were in suits. Bah…
Once we exhausted ourselves ogling Tiffany jewelry we can scarce afford, we adjourned to the buffet tables! Well, ok so it wasn’t a buffet, but there were tables laden generously with finger foods catered by KL Hilton that were oh so yummy! Beef carpaccio, puff pastry cases with roquefort cheese, smoked salmon, scallops, pralines, baby lemon meringue pies, eclairs… and there were waiters going around with trays of little baby brioches with shredded beef and some heavenly teriyaki kobe beef. Guess who stuffed herself silly with kobe beef that night!
Problem was, I did not have a camera with me so you have to be content with crappy phone pictures. And it being a crappy phone camera, I couldn’t take any decent food pictures because of poor lighting and a shaky hand (a drink too many?). Also, I was starting to attract unwanted attention when I poked my phone towards the food. Darn! Its time I get my camera repaired or get a new one!

While I downed bubbly, sis enjoyed the Tiffany drink of the day, which was 7-up or Sprite with blue colouring, true to theme. There were also some really adorable cakes done up in the signature Tiffany blue complete with white ribbon!! So cute, we ate 2! We also had a great time hamming it up and enjoying the thrill of being at a “Private Event”. For once, I was inside the cordoned off area instead of walking past going “Wah! Look at the private event. Got Champagne leh…!!”
Not quite the Tiffany story you were expecting, eh? But I hope you enjoyed it anyway
And what was in the Tiffany & Co box and bag I hear you ask?

This – a door gift of a card holder. Well, you can hardly expect to find a shiny jeweled chic item inside yes? Wait a min… one can expect it, but whether it materialises is a different story altogether
Yours fluffily

But at least you got to hobnob on the other side of the velvet rope! And swish thru the hallowed halls of Tiffany’s to ogle their jewels.
