How a trip to have my hair cut in between having to work on a Sunday ended up with me nursing a brand new notebook in my hot little hands in the evening is quite beyond me. Seriously, what does hair have to do with notebooks, except that my excellent hairdresser happens to be based in Low Yat Plaza – the mecca of all things digital.
Looks just like any other notebook, but it isn’t.

Yep, its the Asus EeePC!
The teeny tiny wonder PC that I’d been saving up for for a while. I wanted a little dinky notebook PC that I can carry around without having to weigh my shoulders down with a full size laptop. I did not want to pay high prices and I first saw it in JB but thought it wasn’t a serious thing. However, when Kimberly wrote about how ultra-portable her EeePC is, I figured, hey! This might be it!

Look! Its just about the size of a paperback! Truly, this is what having a note-BOOK is all about.
I have one thing to say when using the EeePC though – no long nails. Long nails get in my way at the best of times but on this tiny wonder, its almost impossible to type on the keyboard.
I haven’t really tested out all its functions yet. Gotta get it charged up first. So I’ll do up a little review later. One thing though. All the big fonts and cartoony images really bug me – it makes it look less professional when I believe that the EeePC is anything but a mere toy.
I read online that there are ways to enable the advanced desktop for Linux but I’m terrified I’d screw something up, plus Linux is uncharted territory for me. I’m a hands on sorta person and love tinkering with things, but I always stop at tinkering with software because the lines of code (and the black screen with white lettering) scare me. Anyone out there with a surefire foolproof way of enabling the advanced desktop so the notebook doesn’t look so kiddy?
You know what this means? It means I can now blog on the go!
Oh and look what I caught one day while having dinner. Now, here’s something you don’t see everyday in the heart of the city!

Wheeee-eeepc!
