Motorcycles are the bane of my driving life!

This is what a motorcycle did to my car side mirrors just this morning.  If this was a human body, it would be the equivalent of bending the elbows backwards till they crack. If this was a human body, it would be deemed to be torture the likes of which have not seen the light of day since WWII.

So, don’t tell me sob stories about people who ride motorbikes and why we, car drivers have to watch out for them; if they persist in acting like dare devils and refuse to watch out for themselves.

Don’t tell me that I, as a car driver, have to avoid motorcyclists who persist in getting right in my traffic lane.  Don’t tell me I should avoid knocking into motorcyclists who think that just because they ride on 2 wheels, they can squeeze into the smallest corners of the roads,  where no wheels should go; never mind that they knock your car side mirrors out of whack or that they scratch your car doors in the process.

No apology, no remorse. The motorcyclist actually glared at me, as if it was my fault that it was a traffic jam and that I had the audacity to take up space on the road. This was after he had bent my mirror out of shape. Lucky for him, the wonderful people at Toyota anticipated the horrid driving styles of Malaysian motorcyclists so the mirror bent right back with only a little scratch.

But still, it was a hell of a way to start the morning! I’m not feeling charitable towards any motorcyclists at the moment. So, don’t tell me I should be feeling sorry for any one of them right now.

I’m not.

amen to that! they’re complete HAZARDS - I was involved in a hit-n-run case where a motorcyclist veered OFF the road and hit me (I was standing ON the sidewalk)…then RAN OFF! bloody idiot was drunk at 11am in the morning.

so i’d echo your sentiment - i’m not sympathetic towards motorcyclists at all…if they choose to drive like maniacs weaving in and out of traffic, then they deserve what they get.

and don’t even get me started with the mat rempits… :l

Agreed completely with you! The only two accidents my baby car has been involved with happened when motorcyclists crashed into the back, knocking out my rear lights!

And then there was this one time a motorcyclist did exactly the same thing that you blogged about up there - I was stuck in a jam, couldn’t move, he thought my car was in his way, so he PURPOSELY hit my side mirror with his hand as he yelled something that sounded like “Hey!” and as he rode off, he turned around, glared at me and showed me the finger. I was like, “What the @#(?”

Malaysian motorcyclists (the bad ones) deserve whatever’s coming to them. Bah.

They are idiots, but they can’t help it since they got neutered.

Beetrice: Ah! Rempits!! They are the cockroaches of the motorcycle world. urgh!

Rinnah: I don’t know what’s wrong with these motorcyclists. They seem to think they own the road or something.

LB: And they should get neutered too!

yeah! and the accident I had with my dangly side mirror involved a motorcyclist too! Luckily yours could be bent back.

I’ve had those buggers whacking my side mirrors for goodness knows how many times. Thank goodness it’s not hard enough to make a mark or crack the mirror, but still, these people seriously need to bloody STOP trying to achieve the impossible.

So nope, I have no love for motorcyclists.

Hate them. They’re so numerous in KL and Jakarta. I mean I used to ride one in my Uni days, but I never did the stupid stunts these guys did.

Come to Vancouver, PB. There’s none here! :))

I hit a motorcyclist who ran a red traffic light with my car, a few months back. I bet you wish you could do that too right? It doesn’t feel so good…

I’ve got scratch marks on my side mirror and door too :(

Giddy Tigress: Oh I remember the dangly mirror! Horrid motorists!

Tine: Yes I fully agree. Some spaces aren’t meant for bikes to squeeze into.

Cheesey: Damn! I wish Vancouver was an option :P

Adino: Ouch! No I don’t really want to hit any of them that way - jail isn’t an option but sucks to the scratches :(
