Apologies for the silence. I’m now sitting at home, glowering at contractors who tell you one thing one day and do another the next.
I’m having my kitchen remodelled - adding in some cabinets and installing an oven so I can partake in more baking disasters… nay, triumphs! … and my contractor is driving me nuts.
What was a one day job is now on Day #2 and the glue fumes permeate thoughout the house while I sit here taking it all in. Can’t leave because I live here and have my things all over the place.
They have promised it will be done by today. It’d better or I’d have a lot of things to say!
Tip for new house owners: Do up your house to your satisfaction BEFORE you move in. Once you move in, it’s hell! Unfortunately for me, my house is always a work-in-progress because I do up bits and pieces as and when the funds allow me to. Sigh…

Aahh I thought you were dealing with contractors at work. Not at home. They could be so thick, sometimes. I hate dealing with them.
You eat something cool whenever they get into your nerve ya.
And don’t frown.
Oh dear. But contractors are like that - they’ll tell you it takes only X number of days, but they’ll take twice as long, especially when it comes to homes. At least if it’s offices you can push them and threaten them a bit.
We all dread contractors, don’t we? Well, the sorta good thing is that you get to work from home, no?
Andie: Yeah they still aren’t done. Sigh…
Rinnah: It makes no difference dear, office or home, they still take forever!
GT: Yes working at home is a consolation, but I spent more time making sure they were working than working myself!
uh-huh, always try to get the big renos done before moving in. wish I had a place to do up too! show us your new kitchen in all its new glory soon, yea?
