Kimberly: Yeah the bathroom is ridiculous and I think the only renovation was newer beds!

Beetrice: When I was a kid, it was the Genting Hotel that was haunted. With the mists and dampness, its easy to think any building there is haunted... except the casino which is haunted by punters lol...

Adino: Yes I will, but these rooms came free so... heh

GT: On non peak weekdays its actually quite nice - much quieter. School holidays and weekends are horrible!

Andie: Its only a good place for some cool air but nothing else unless you like theme parks and crowds and casinos!

rinnah: Its fun! I did it once and am itching to do it again

CC: Yes its way over developed which is a pity. I actually liked it the way it was before when it was cool and you could walk around without getting knocked down by cars.

It is really over developed and with the first world hotel built, over crowded. Gone were the days where there's only nice park and crisp air. The days where you don't need to wiggle your way out everywhere you go.

I've been trying to get my friends together for a day trip to Genting just to play in the outdoor themepark. :D

I still remembered the last trip. It was so horrible, during chinese new year, two years ago. To get to our room, we had to queue up for the elevator for at least 15 minutes. It is not my kind of place. :(

Actually the rooms at Genting Hotel are the best. At least when I was there about 3 years ago....anyway, if the casino is not what you are looking for, I'd agree with Adino that Awana has pretty decent rooms too.

However, contrary to popular belief, Genting is crowded any time of the week or year! I remember I was there during a weekday once, but there were also HOARDES of people thronging every place there.

I would recommend staying at Awana next time. It's less crowded and the rooms are nicer.

the standard and design of the rooms vary throughout Genting - the Genting Resort rooms are a lot more comfortable and cosy, but rumour is the First World Hotel rooms are haunted! LOL!
