AIM16 – Malaysian Music Awards Fashion

by ParisB on May 2, 2009

Ok so I was at a loose end or I’d never have ended up watching (part) of the Anugerah Industri Muzik or AIM 16 awards. It was just after the news and I was too lazy to change the channel because my mum had just fed me full of fruits :P

Anyway, my eye was first caught by Sazzy Falak’s dress. My initial thought was “Urgh! Ugly! Too much going on!!”

Sazzy Falak dress

But you know what? It grows on you. And although I thought Sazzy Falak looked a little older than what I remembered her looking like, she did look quite nice in it. A simple necklace might have been better though.

Here’s a full length shot:-

AIM 16

The dress is pretty deceptive because the side panels are sheer and slit up pretty high. Naughty! ;)

I included the picture of the unknown singer in black because her HUGE beehive hairdo stunned me. In her black fitted jacket top and long black skirt dripping with diamonds, she looked more like a Datin attending a dinner do than a music star on the blue carpet – no red carpets because the shindig was sponsored by Celcom – see how far they would go to cater to the sponsors?! The lady in peach is Maya Karin who I thought looked just so so in that dress. The weird black beaded straps cum necklace threw me a little.

I did not finish watching – I got bored – but I have to give special mention to these 2 who turned up in costumes – Wonder Woman and Maid Marian to be exact.

The one on the left said she was coming in something themed for the 70′s but ended up looking like Wonder Woman in her short sheer tunic top and glittery headband. All that was missing was her knee high boots and cuff bracelets :P I have nothing against headdresses, most stars who wear the tudung do it very stylishly but I felt this one was a bit of a disaster. She reminded me of a modern day Maid Marian. Moderation would have been key. Despite the brickbats, Siti Nurhaliza does wear the tudung well and stylishly but she was nowhere to be seen as she was on her Umrah (pilgrimage).

With my short attention span its any wonder I watched long enough to catch these shots!

BTW I still cannot get my N95 to moblog using the lifeblog. Sigh.

Scary bee hive woman looks like a plastic surgery victim.
Scary. A thinner version of Ursula the Sea Witch.

How you been btw?
