Da Vinci must have been the original rapper man – yo! Da man y’all!
Anyway, many many moons ago, I was in Rome with friends, poring through a roadside stall for souvenir T-shirts. This was in the days when the poetic Italian Lira was still around and not emasculated into the boring ol’ Euro.
Anyway, from the cart, I pulled out 3 T-shirts for something like the equivalent of RM10 after bargaining away in pidgin English with the vendor and gesticulating wildly in the manner favored by the Italians.
Of the 3 T-shirts I picked, one bore a picture of The Last Supper, one had the Vitruvian Man and the third had a picture of Michaelangelo’s Creation of Man from the Sistine Chapel.

I say, 2 Leonardo da Vinci reproductions on what is now a ratty old T-shirt aren’t bad! I remember my parents were not very amused by my wearing a T-shirt with a naked man on it with his genitals in full view, out in public.
My answer was: Its art!
And I got away with it.
So with this lingering in my memory when I read about the Da Vinci The Genius 2009 Exhibition going on at the National Science Center, I wanna go! And Gallivanter will take me there with his free tickets… won’t you Gallivanter?
Otherwise, its RM25 for adults and RM20 for Children. Not too much for an afternoon of art appreciation is it?
