Withdraw Paypal to Malaysia Bank Account!

by ParisB on October 28, 2009

I was going to write about something else but here’s some good news for Malaysians who have funds in Paypal and have been wondering how to take it out into a Malaysia bank account.

Now you can! I read it here where you can get a step by step instruction on how to input your bank account.

I’m trying with RHB Bank and I’m only worried about the name.

1st thing to note

When they ask for your bank particulars, they listed my surname correctly i.e. Lim (obviously NOT my surname :P ) and for my first name, it was Ah Moi.

But as you go along, and want to withdraw your cash, the listed it as Ah Moi Lim when my bank will recognize me as Lim Ah Moi.

I’m not sure how this will fare but I’ll update later.

2nd thing to note

Withdrawals above RM400 will be free but anything below that will incur a RM3 charge. However when you want to withdraw, the amount is in USD.

They do prompt you with the conversion before you hit submit so there’s time to think about it.

I did a test withdrawal of US$10 = RM33.11 – RM3 (charge) so I’d expect to receive RM30.11 in my bank account in 2-3 days.

Fingers crossed.

Never thought this day would come! :D

YAY!

p’s Not sure if it works the other way round i.e. whether you can upload money from your bank account into your paypal account. I’m more concerned about drawing out of paypal for now :P

That’s great news!

I guess one way to get around the name problem would be to switch your surname and first name around.
