Random thought of the day #7

Gosh! I feel like that little iBaby at the moment.

I’m snowed under at work. Yes, and I’m working on multiple projects at the same time. When people said women can multi-task, I don’t suppose they meant it seriously right?!

Can someone hand me a shovel and dig me out of here please?

Yours fluffily

Cheep cheap…. its Easter…

Another lame title but I was up till 4am last night - four ay am!! Pukul Empat Pagi!!

And no, I wasn’t out clubbing or having fun, I was WORKING goshdarnit! And I was hungry! At four ay am! We were actually thinking of hitting up a 24 hour McDonalds just to satisfy my curiousity.

Who goes to McDonalds at 4am?” I have often asked. I was about to get my answer but there was no McDs near my place. Boo!

Anyway, mushy brains aside, I went for some unexpected shopping yesterday and picked me up a wonderful deal - 2 pairs of shoes for less than RM230 at Marks and Spencer!

Its the Marks & Spencer sale on at the moment and I know that M&S aren’t exactly shoemakers of the year, but I could not resist the cute peep toes in a metallic taupe leather for RM150. They were adorable and fit like a charm. Besides there was only one there in my size - Size 4! Woot!

And as providence would have it, there was only 1 pair of suede ankle boots to fit my size 4 feet too!! They were originally priced for RM349 and were discounted to RM139. I thought it was a best buy item because of the different colored sticker but when I went to pay for them, I got 50% off! Suede ankle boots for under RM70?! Where to find?!

I’ve never owned a pair of ankle boots - I never could see the point but they look awesome with pants/jeans and who can resist that cute little bow at the back eh?

I just read on Eye For Everything that my favourite writer Terry Pratchett has Alzheimers Disease. No!! He’s so witty and funny!! Now I’m even more determined to make sure I have the whole collection of Pratchett’s books!

For a sample of his humor go read his letter to the Alzheimer’s Trust. It had me giggling even though I was feeling upset. And in an effort to Match it For Pratchett you can buy a T-shirt to help donate towards Alzheimer’s research. Its got a picture of the Discworld on it so what’s there not to like? What is the Discworld? Erm… time to pick up a Pratchett novel and lose yourself in it!

Finally, its Good Friday! And that means Sunday is Easter Sunday! And that means Hot Cross Buns, Chocolate Eggs and Chocolate Easter Bunnies!

I’m sorry, I’m pagan :P

To all celebrating the rebirth of Christ, I wish you a Blessed Easter; and to all celebrating with chocolate eggs, bunnies and hot cross buns, I wish you Happy Easter too!

Twit-a-cough-phone-twit

My cough has turned from a dry chesty cough to something more sporadic but my nasal passages still feel dry and my taste buds are still dead. Is there anything worse than not having any taste-buds? Its no wonder I seem to have lost some weight - food just doesn’t seem as appetizing when you can’t smell nor taste them.

sick

What I’ve been indulging in, in my last ditch attempt to remove the last remaining vestiges of a lingering cough is taking Nin Jiom Pei Pa Koa and making lo han guo drinks at home. For the latter, I’d used to make it with sweetened wintermelon slices before, but I recently tried it with the fresh wintermelon and dried longans - yummy! They do help with a cough, so its all good!

What’s with the rainy weather lately? All it does is make me want to curl up in bed and continue sleeping in the mornings. It rained all day yesterday and today doesn’t seem any better. Its even brought the floods to Johor already - repeat of last year?

I’ve been looking around for my new phone. I looked at Nokia but somehow, felt underwhelmed, sorry all Nokia fans. I even looked at the N73, GT because you loved it so, but somehow, it didn’t grab my fancy. I was happy looking at the N95 though but thats seriously seriously out of budget. :P

The ones that did grab my attention, were strangely enough by Sony Ericsson. Yes, despite my grouses with SE, it looks like I might be going back to them. The K800i is an older model but the reviews for it are awesome. How’s the joystick though? Does anyone experience trouble with it? I’d read many reviews which claim that that’s its weak point.

I played around with the new K770i too, but the reviews for it are blah so I’m going to pass on it. It looks good, its really slim and it fits what I’m looking for, but apparently the camera isn’t all that good and most users were disappointed with it. Not good then, I think. Another one that I saw was the K530i. Any thoughts on that?

Then of course, there are the Samsung phones which I haven’t gone to see yet.

I’d be getting 2 phones so, I know I’m going to have better bargaining power in terms of price and freebies. I hope to actually get one before the year is out! More recs! More recs! Confuse me, yes? :) *cough* *cough*

THANK YOU!!

Dr. Feelgood is in the house

This week started out with me feeling poorly but then quickly starting to feel much better as the week progressed. Very odd, I must add. I have to attribute my quick recovery to Xango - an antioxidant supplement drink thing. I must admit I was sceptical about its benefits but because I was feeling off, I took large doses of it and went to sleep. I actually felt much better the next day - the sniffles stopped and I stopped feeling the chills. I’d been taking it quite regularly before though so maybe its that too. Thanks to Sis for the recommendation. :)

Sis and I are hatching some foolhardy plan to go on a Food Hunt. *laughs hysterically* Can you imagine 2 balls of fluff attempting to navigate a car and read clues? In Penang some more! Neither of us knows the roads in Penang! So, if we get lost, please expect a frantic phone call to get us back on track, Giddy Tiger! :)

I must be growing up. I’ve had reports of my personal poltergeist rearing its ugly head but what have I done? No, no more meltdowns. This time, I laughed. Long and hard at the ridiculousness of it all. Not even the shrill bitter laugh of the cynical, but the truly amused laughter of someone who’s just been told a good joke - and honestly, it was funny… to me. Yes, 9 months down the road and I can laugh - its a good sign. *pats self on back* (I do yoga and am flexible so this is possible)

I managed to grab some excellent shopping deals during the week at Phenomenal. They do really pretty party and evening dresses but it usually costs quite a bit. I popped by on a whim and picked up some real bargains for under RM100 in total because they are having a Value Buy promotion! Needless to say, sis quickly jumped at the opportunity to pick up some deals too! Whee for good shopping deals!

And while at the mall, I noticed that many stores have put up Christmas decorations. I maybe commercial and shallow but I love Christmas time. The decorations are always so pretty and the carols give you this feel good buzz that makes you feel all warm and toasty and with goodwill towards everyone. Coupled with it being the end of the year and therefore being a more relaxed time at work, Christmas is one of my favourite times of the year. I can’t wait till all the mall decors come up. Maybe I’ll do a bit of mall-ratting and check out the Christmas decor at the various malls this year.

In line with Christmas coming and all, I realised I have no idea what mistletoe looks like. So, I looked it up just to be sure I know what bit of greenery to place myself under.

So, apparently, this is mistletoe (what I thought was mistletoe previously, spikey leaves and red berries were actually holly leaves and holly berries!) and this is what I should be standing under. So, kiss me already yes? :)

Smooch!!

Happy Friday and happy weekend all!
